Kensington Mews House, London

Our team developed an interior design concept for a modern take on a traditional Mews home, in the polished south-west London neighbourhood of Kensington.

The holistic refurbishment and extension of this classic Mews townhouse involved an amended layout to the existing floor plan and the addition of a new level. The idea involved reviewing the connectivity of the house, imagining options to open up as much space as possible for the client.

To optimise the light flow throughout the home and toward the lower level, a light well was introduced at the rear of the building.

Our solution involved excavation, to include a fresh, lower level complete with a spa, a home gym and a wine cellar. For the existing floors, we introduced a bespoke kitchen and open plan living area to the ground level, dedicated the first level to a generous master bedroom suite, focused on a guest bedroom and office for the second level and an airy rooftop terrace with views over the nearby locale.

An airy rooftop terrace showcases views over the leafy nearby locale.
